Lies in Monthly Reports

The school I work at is called SLP English Academy in Bupyeong. Every month, we have to write reports for each students to be sent to their parents. It’s a lot of work, but for a private school where parents pay a lot of money to send their children to, it’s understandable. Now, I wouldn’t have any problems with that, if I didn’t have to lie all the time. Basically, I have to make every comments I make about my students, as sweet and nice as possible, even if the student is a complete ass. Since the parents are paying for their child to come to our school, they expect to hear only good things about their child. I can’t even say that a student needs to pay attention in class, or that a student is quiet. Apparently this is like telling the parent that their child is a failure. It makes absolutely no sense that I have to put in so much work, I have around 100 students, only to sugar coat all my comments with pure lies every freaking month. It’s a waste of my time, and it’s not helping the student in any way. Instead of the lies I have to write, I could point the weaknesses to the parents so that we can both work to improve the students in his or her abilities. This just reflect how the country is in general; people only care about appearances here.
